I begin my career in logistics working at United Parcel Solutions in their corporate offices in California. Upon receiving a promotion, I relocated to Las Vegas and worked on the MGM Resorts account. Once working onsite at MGM Resorts, I realized I loved the culture of the company. I never had a passion for logistics and wanted to change careers. After many years of searching for something to become passionate about, I finally realized Hospitality was where I wanted to further develop a career.
I left UPS and went to Diamond Resorts located in Summerlin, Nevada. There, I wrote copy for newsletters and e-blasts, and wrote marketing content on their website. I also wrote training documents and webinar scripts, as well as maintained the marketing calendar for the department. After a year of working at Diamond Resorts, I applied for the Marketing division of MGM Resorts, and began working for the number one hospitality corporation on The Strip.
Upon arriving at MGM Resorts, I learned pretty quickly that many of my peers had several years under their belt in the industry. I was coming into this industry with 10 years of experience in logistics. In order to succeed in the level I wanted to, I needed more experience in the Hospitality industry.
I decided to obtain a degree in Hospitality, that way I could use my classroom knowledge and put it to use in the workplace. I have already been able to use what I have learned so far and it has shown to be a great asset at work!
In my free time, I enjoy attending music and food festivals. I have been to a variety of different festivals that include UNLVino, Pure Aloha Festival, and Bite of Vegas just to name a few. Recently, I started abook club with a few friends. We mainly read autobiographies. I have learned so much about people that I would have never known had I not picked up their book.
My absolute favorite pastime is collecting vinyl records. I adore my record player and love searching for new record stores to find vintage albums. My collection is very diverse with everything from Soul, Funk, Tejano and Hip-Hop albums.
